City of Fircrest’s New City Manager

Update: City Manager Scott Pingel was sworn in on December 8, 2017.

Welcome

The City of Fircrest is very pleased to announce the selection of Scott Pingel as its next City Manager.  Mayor Jolibois stated, “The City Council and staff is extremely fortunate to have someone as capable as Scott.  The City has made great strides in moving forward and Scott will expand on that and bring his innovation and leadership to the administration. We have confidence Scott will be up to the task of maintaining a strong level of city services for our residents.”  Mr. Pingel’s first day on the job will be December 4, 2017.

Mr. Pingel has served as City Manager for the City of Dayton, Oregon since 2013. Prior to that time, he was the City Manager for the City of Stanfield, Oregon, from 2010 to 2013. He has also worked for the City of Richland, Washington, as a Performance Measurement Consultant and was an International City/County Management Association Local Government Management Fellow at the City of Federal Way, Washington. Mr. Pingel has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, and a Master of Public Administration degree from West Virginia University.

The City has had two interim city managers after the departure of former City Manager Rick Rosenbladt in May 2017. The City engaged in executive search firm Prothman Company to perform the recruitment for a new city manager. As a result of a national outreach, over 20 applicants were received, of those, the City Council interviewed the top four applicants. All four candidates were determined to be highly capable with excellent credentials, experience, and potential fit for the City of Fircrest. At its October 24, 2017 meeting, the City Council approved the terms of employment with Mr. Pingel.
