2018 Work Plan

This is the approved work plan for the Planning Commission. This document is for planning purposes only and may be modified as items or issues arise.

Golf Course Condo Project

The developer is currently working with staff to receive a site development permit and final site plan approval. This includes all the details and specifications from water lines to landscaping and building design. Upon approval of the site development permit, ground work will begin.

2018 Comprehensive Plan Update

Case number: 18-03

Chapter 23.06 Comprehensive Plan Amendments establishes the process by which the Fircrest Comprehensive Plan can be updated and amended each year.

The window for private application is from April 2 – June 1, 2018

FMC 22.07.004 and .005, Type II-A Public Notice

Case number: 18-04

The Planning Commission will be holding a public hearing on staff’s recommendation to increase the public notice for Type II-A applications to 300 feet for commercial projects and extending the comment period to 14 days. At the request of the City Council, staff reviewed the notice requirements for Type II-A permits, which include administrative use permits, minor site plan review, minor variances and administrative interpretations. Type II-A applications are a staff level review and do not require a public hearing.

As this is a legislative item, the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing prior to forwarding a recommendation to the City Council. The City Council will hold a public hearing prior to taking any final action.

FMC 22.58.003, Accessory Building Setbacks

Case number: 18-05

The Planning Commission will be holding a public hearing on staff’s recommendation to reduce the side-street side setback and rear setback of through-lots to five feet for structures not requiring a permit and to increase the rear and side yard setbacks for accessory structures from three feet to five feet.

As this is a legislative item, the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing prior to forwarding a recommendation to the City Council. The City Council will hold a public hearing prior to taking any final action.

New Commercial Building: Chick-fil-A restaurant

Case number: 18-06

The City has received an application for a preliminary site plan review and an accessory use permit for a 6,545-square foot restaurant with drive-thru as well as a major variance for additional parking.
