Business Licenses

The City of Fircrest does require a business license as stated in Fircrest Municipal Code No. 5.04.020, “No person shall transact, engage in or carry on any business, trade, profession or occupation without first having been issued a business license…”

The City of Fircrest partners with the Department of Revenue's Business Licensing Service (BLS) to process and renew the Fircrest General Business License. First time applications and renewals can be still be submitted in person at the City Hall, but are now available online through the DOR.

Conducting business out of your home?

If you are conducting business out of your home in Fircrest, you will need a home occupation permit in addition to your business license. Your home occupation permit must be issued by the City prior to approval of your business license. For more information call, 253-564-8901.

Wanting to go door-to-door?

If you are wishing to participate in door-to-door sales or are a transient merchant, you will need a business license and a transient merchant registration. In addition, a bond for $1000 running in favor of the City of Fircrest is required - speak with your insurance agent. For more information call 253-564-8901.

Special Events

A special event on private or public property, and/or which will necessitate the use of the public right-of-way is required to obtain a special events permit. This includes block parties, parades, and other temporary events. Applications need to be turned into the City Clerk at least 30 days prior to start of the event. The permit fee will be waived for block parties but the permit is still required.
