Swim Lessons

Child must be 32” at the shoulder to be enrolled in swimming lessons. Morning lessons are a half hour long between 9 am – 12 pm every weekday morning for two weeks.  Night lessons will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday nights for five weeks in half-hour sessions 5:30–6:00 or 6:00–6:30 pm

Fircrest Residents:           $40

Non-Residents:                 $50

Sign-ups will be held on Thursday evenings, four days before the session begins, in the Roy H. Murphy Community Center.

  • Lessons will be held on July 4th.
  • Daily swim lessons will run as scheduled unless conditions are not safe for swimmers
  • NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN
  • Early Bird Sign-ups:  Those currently enrolled in swim lessons are able to sign-up for the following session between 9 am – 12 pm on Thursday morning of Sign-up Day.

Fircrest Amateur Swim Team

Cost:   $60 for Fircrest Residents

            $100 for Non-Residents

Times:  12:00-1:30pm & 4:30-5:30pm Monday – Friday

Dates:  June 26 – August 12

Swim Team Requirements (1 or more of the following)

  • Member last year
  • Enrolled in or passed out of 7/8 class
  • Able to successfully pass a swim team tryout
  • Fircrest swim teacher recommendation

General Information

All children 6 and under are free and are required to be with an adult in the water. (Caregivers 16 years and older) Adults and caregivers will be required to be in the water, within arm’s reach of children, at all times. If pool staff feels children are not being supervised adequately they will be asked to leave the water.

All swimmers must pass a swim test (one length of crawl stroke) to go past the 5 ft area.

There will be no refunds issued by the swimming pool.

Weather conditions may force the closure of the pool.  Conditions will be re-evaluated prior to each swim session.

No floatation devices are allowed except during family swim.

Children who are not toilet trained are required to use swim diapers when using the pool.
