Officer Miguel Bugarin

Hola! I’m Officer Miguel Bugarin with the Fircrest Police Department. I joined the department in 2023 and am currently assigned to patrol.

I earned my associate degree in Administration of Justice and graduated from the Washington State Police Academy in 2022. I have since received specialized training in Crisis Intervention (CIT), Advanced Roadside Impairment Detection Enforcement (ARIDE), and Active Shooter Response.

I was born and raised in California, and moved my family to Washington in 2019.

After graduating in 2019, I was inspired to become a police officer to represent my heritage and help build trust within the community. As a first generation Mexican-American, I am proud and fortunate to represent my culture while in uniform.

I am your neighbor, not just an officer. As a Fircrest resident myself, I am deeply committed to keeping our neighborhoods and streets safe. I take great pride in playing an active role in public safety, which gives me the opportunity to solve a variety of engaging problems.

When off-duty, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children. I have a curious mind and love learning about various subjects that pique my interest. However, I’m a tech nerd through and through and enjoy creating and building things. If I can think it, I can build it.

If you see me around, please say hola!
