The City of Fircrest requires all dogs and cats in the City over eight weeks old to be licensed. Licenses are valid for one year and should be obtained within 30 days of acquiring your pet or moving to the City.

Who must be licensed?

All dogs and cats kept within Fircrest over eight (8) weeks of age.

When to license?

Within 30 days of acquiring your pet or moving into Fircrest, and must be renewed each year.

Are there any exemptions?

Service dogs assisting individuals with disabilities may receive licenses and tags free of charge, provided they meet the program’s criteria.

Are there any penalties for not licensing

Late penalties do not apply when you license within 30 days of purchase/acquisition, within 30 days of moving into Fircrest, or when the animal is/was under the licensing age within the previous 30 days. Voluntary licensing prior to in-person by animal control may also avoid late penalties.
