The Parks Maintenance Facility at Fircrest Park has needed serious attention for some time, with wear and tear taking its toll over the years. Additionally, we’ve recognized the need for more storage space to house the equipment and tools that keep Fircrest’s key attractions looking their best.
We’re excited to announce that the long-discussed project to improve this facility is now underway! This plan has been in the works since before the COVID-19 pandemic, and City staff are thrilled to see it finally come to life.
The project includes expanding the current facility from 34 ft by 24 ft to 54 ft by 24 ft. Upgrades will include additional storage space for the Parks and Facilities Department, an updated electrical panel, improved lighting (both interior and exterior), a wash tub with a safety eye wash station, and an outdoor fenced area for secure equipment and supply storage.
Keep an eye out for construction activity in the coming months, and please feel free to reach out to Public Works Director Bemis or Parks & Recreation Director Grover with any questions.
