Community Event Cancellations

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions and guidelines set out by the Governor’s Safe Start plan, the City of Fircrest has made the difficult decision to cancel all upcoming summer events. This currently includes the Strawberry Feed and Band Concert (June 28th), Fircrest Picnic and Rod Run (July 5th), Fircrest Fun Days (July 17th & 18th) and Concert, Market & Picnics in the Park (August 13th & 27th).

None of these events can be held in a way that allows us to adhere to capacity and social distancing requirements that will continue to exist through the dates of these events.

The Strawberry Feed and Band Concert, the Fircrest Picnic and Rod Run (Car Show) and Fircrest Fun Days have been Fircrest traditions for over 30 years, and while we are sad that we won’t be able to celebrate these traditions with our residents this year, we know that this was the right decision needed at this time to keep our community healthy.

Our Parks and Recreation staff will continue to monitor the Washington State Safe Start Guidance and will be evaluating our upcoming  events in the fall.

Large events have been banned in Pierce County since March 11.
