City of Fircrest Named “Best City” in Best of the South Sound Awards
FIRCREST, WA — The City of Fircrest has been recognized as the “Best City” in South Sound Magazine’s 2026 “Best of the South Sound” awards, a distinction that highlights the community’s strong civic pride, high quality of life, and unique neighborhood character.
Known as the “Jewel of Pierce County,” Fircrest is nestled among mature fir trees and is widely recognized for its welcoming, small-town atmosphere. At only 1.5 square miles, the city of 7,200 offers an impressive network of parks, small businesses, and walkable neighborhoods that make it a highly desirable place to live.
Founded in 1925 and recently celebrating its Centennial anniversary, Fircrest continues to honor its rich local history while investing in its future as a vibrant and connected community. The recognition reflects the dedication of residents, businesses, and city staff who contribute to maintaining Fircrest’s distinctive charm and livability.
